Sampdoria’s Emil Audero is linked with the Italian side Juventus as Gigi Buffon’s replacement as they continue with their transition period.

The Bianconeri have embarked on a young Juventus transition mission that targets young players around 24 years old. As a result, the young Sampdoria shot-stopper has been on the Juventus’ radar as the Buffon replacement.

Audero has proven to be strong on an individual level despite Sampdoria’s league position and their struggles. Audero receives such news as a good sign and is pleased to be linked with a move to a team like Juventus.

“For me, it is a good sign. It makes me happy for two reasons,” Audero said.

“It means that since I have been here Sampdoria has believed in me, they have managed to enhance me; and then because it means that there have been many positive things in recent years and the hope that there will be others in the near future,” he explained.

“These are things that are pleasing because they are important teams, high ranking and with an important history,” Audero added:

There is no doubt that Audero wants to play for Juventus but he insists that he is still building the future.

“But, as I have always said in the past, we need to think about the present to build the future. I focus on the season finale,” he continued.

“It’s nice but these are things that shouldn’t distract me from current goals,” he stated.

Reports claim that Juventus have reverted their policy of signing players age 24 only in their rebuilding process. Signing the Sampdoria youngster could be a perfect match for the Turin.

Despite low stats, 3 clean sheets from 29 competitive games this season, Audero may not be the man Juve is looking for.  However, given a better defense, the Sampdoria number one could be better.
