Manchester United defender Eric Bailly says their focus has been instrumental to the recent top form this season.
The Ivorian says United have been focused this season especially during the 6-2 huge victory over As Roma. United came from 2-1 down to claim a 6-2 first-leg victory.
According to Bailly who has been on the sideline for a long time, believes his teammate has been focused.
“I think it’s our focus and also we have trained well. If you train well then you are ready for the game and with this mentality, we have been able to raise the level of our game,” Bailly said.
The United defender who signed a new contract recently explains that the Red Devils showed a strong mentality.
“On the day [against Roma] we conceded two quick goals, but the most important thing was the comeback. We came back from the first half strongly and showed a good mentality. We scored many goals and won the game and that was very important.” he explained.
Also, Bailly says his side will not change their first Leg approach. He insists they will not change their approach despite the 6-2 first-leg victory.
“It was a good performance [at Old Trafford]. We started not bad, but then there were two goals for them. After that, in the second half, we came back strong, we won the game and it was a good win,” Bailly said.
“Six goals is not easy [to score] against Roma, it’s a very important step for the final, but it’s only one step. Now, we are focused for the second game in Italy and we want to win and do well and get to the final,” he continued.
“We won 6-2 but in Italy, we are not going there just to wait for a draw. No, we go to win again, that’s our mentality and what we need to have to be able to get to the final, he emphasized.
